Have you heard of an “Analog Bag?” I’m not sure who or where the idea came from, but I saw a friend on Instagram with one and I thought it was great! Basically, it’s a bag of physical media and the like to keep with you and keep you off your phone. I am very prone to “doom scrolling” (which is NOT good for my mental health) and my new obsession is currently bullet journaling, so it’s the perfect time for me to jump on this trend. All you do is grab a bag and fill it with things to keep you occupied: a book to read, a puzzle book like Sudoku or Crosswords, crochet, embroidery/cross-stitch, a coloring book, a journal, etc.
Here’s a look at my analog bag: Inside I always have a (library) book, my bullet journal, my “junk journal,” a sketchpad, and a bag of pens/pencils/markers etc. At the moment, you’ll also find my current cross-stitch project. Lately I’ve been keeping my mood tracker in there, too, but that rotates between in here, my work bag, or at home. Would you carry around an analog bag? What would you put in it? Or do you do what I use to do and just throw random shit into a giant purse and call it a day? 👻
