It’s been a whirlwind of a week so far (and it’s only Wednesday)...
I worked until 9pm on Monday night and decided to go to the hospital after work due to the extreme pain in my arm that was only getting worse. I was there for an hour or so - they just attributed it to my pinched nerve in my spine *shrug*, gave me some meds and a prescription for another steroid, and sent me on my way (since I was scheduled to have an MRI two days later).
Unfortunately, I got to sleep around midnight and because of whatever reason I woke up at like 4:30am. I think I fell asleep on the couch around 6am-ish? But I had to be at work by 9am that day. I’ll admit, through lack of sleep or whatever, I was a little loopy… and I guess it turned into a manic episode. It’s been a while since I had one this… noticeable. The comments about my oddly good mood and high energy didn’t exactly make me feel great, so my mania predictably ended in a low swing that evening. Whatever kept me going through the day tapped out and I ended up barely able to function by like 7pm.
And what did I have to look forward to the next day (today)? An MRI before work! Despite this being my second MRI, I was still nervous. Made worse by the worry that I had to go into work directly after, so I was rather stressed about time and how I would feel after. Sure enough, my body went into shakes and convulsions during the process. Thankfully, the procedure was over in like 20 minutes, but my body didn’t register that for a while and I continued to shake directly afterwards and well into my shift.
I have a follow-up with the neurosurgeon on Monday - I’m hopeful that we can at least make some headway into a treatment plan at last. It’s been a long journey and I’m ready for it to be over. I’m also ready for a period of rest, because I landed last Wednesday night and have been working and going to appointments ever since. This lazy girl is TIRED. 👻
